Canadian's Rights & NB Salmon Rivers
Time to take back citizen's rights
I feel like David vs Goliath, how can an ordinary citizen like me take on the
Gov't of Canada and it's laws? I was ready to step
back into the shadows of ordinary life, until people approached and begged me
not to give up! Most Canadians, like myself, are vocal on issues today
and hope tomorrow things will change on their own for the better. We are
fortunate to live in Canada, and are content to let our Parliamentarians serve
and protect us with our collection of laws. We have seen recently that
there is a breakdown in the way our laws are designed to protect us, ask David
Chen, Ian Thomson, or myself. I believe it is time to listen to what the
public is saying, to redesign our laws with the input from ordinary citizens,
isn't this the way our political system is designed to run?
My first quest is to inform our citizens on why we
need a "Castle Law", or with a unique Canadian flavour
"The Habitation Law", named after the first French settlement
in North America on the Annapolis Basin in Nova Scotia (1605). I hope,
with the help of fellow citizens and the media, we can get the word out and
debate this subject. I have an email address cancastlelaw@gmail.com were
people can send comments and criticisms (both are welcome) on a Habitation Law
or any issue for that matter. This will allow me to judge the level of
support from my fellow citizens and formulate a plan to approach my Member of
Parliament on this issue. Roy Green has stated "there are 308 MPs and 33
million of us", I feel it is time we placed our leaders on notice!
Foot note:
was born in Annapolis Royal, it is the oldest continuous European
settlement in North America, north of St. Augustine, Florida. Nearby is The
Habitation, founded by Samuel de Champlain (and others). It is a
fortified settlement where the French lived and the walls would protect them
from enemy attack (that never happened).
